AI dispels?
OOC, has anyone ever seen an AI dispel a global enchantment (such as Foul Air)? Just curious as to whether I should bother with getting rid of it myself, as there are plenty of other AIs who the spell has got to be hurting worse (I have GoH up so it's not a major problem for me).

Re: AI dispels?
I've never seen the AI specifically dispel anything, although they will cast stuff even when the spell list is full, which can sometimes cause one or more random spells to be dispelled....
as well as creating odd random bugs where you can't cast a global enchantment even when there are empty slots. AIs are a pain about this.

Re: AI dispels?
I saw the AI cast Dispel against another AI's Burden of Time, after only one turn of doom.
However, later in the same game, it didn't help (or didn't succeed - I don't know if you get notified of unsuccessful Dispel attempts on enemy spells, or not), against Foul Air and Wrath of God. Though, maybe the one who dispelled earlier was the caster later.

Re: AI dispels?
Did it specifically dispel, or simply overwrite with another spell? I've seen the AI perform overwrites, but I've never had it explicitly attempt to dispel anything I've cast.

Re: AI dispels?
It specifically dispelled. There was only one global enchantment at the time, and after the dispel event, there were none.

Re: AI dispels?
Hmm. Maybe the AI tries to dispel, but fails often. Or that he doesn't get to try often: For some nations, it does tend to require a bit of deliberate effort to be able to cast a dispel: While Astral-3 and enchantment 5 aren't what I would consider big-ticket items, for many nations, getting that astral 3 tends to require at least some amount of deliberate effort in items or empowerments, which the AI tends not to do.
Also, I, and I suspect, most other human players, are in the habit of ramming hundreds of gems into an enchantment just to make sure it STAYS there, which the AI probably doesn't cope with very well. Although it is funny in MP to ram random amounts of gems with no correlation to importance into enchantments, just to baffle people and force them to waste a ton of their own gems dispelling something you didn't put any gems into, because you intended that casting as dispel-bait anyway.

Re: AI dispels?
Yep.
The AI might also only dispel when it has an appropriate number of unused astral gems, which might not be often. And/or, it might tend to try to dispel with too few gems, in which case the player never hears about it.
The AI does vary its use of gems to cast enchantments. I've had to dispel the Wrath of God one three times in a row against the same AI, and each time a different number of gems was required, with the Last one apparently being at least 15 gems over the cost. Again, it might simpy be a matter of them using however many gems of the appropriate type, that they have on hand at the time.
