Re: Overpriced?
Yep, Zen, seems like a new post with this topic is once every 2-3 days. Is it worth it? I bought it AND paid for the express shipping, which came to $63.95. Didn't waste a penny, IMO. Looking to my right, I see...oh, about $1,000.00 worth of games I've purchased and accumulated over the years. Replay value? Hmm, once every couple of years I might decide to re-play an old favorite, but most are "play through to the scripted end and shelve it". Dominions 2 is like learning to play chess. It takes a long time even to be able to call yourself an intermediate player, let alone anything near an expert. I anticipate the replay value of this game is worth that of 10 or more games. As long as you like the demo (ie: you're the type of gamer who enjoys this type of game), it's well worth the measly 50 bucks.

Re: Overpriced?
I agree with the sentiments of Targa and sachmo below: if this is what it takes for brilliant small design studios like Illwinter to survive, then it's a small price to pay. We as gamers have a responsibility to support small design companies that put out unique and addictive game software, like Dominions 2.

Re: Overpriced?
Gotta throw in my penny's worth...speaking of great games and supporting the hard work of independent developers, have you all played Derek's new release Coliseum?

Yeah normally Id say "now go find a group that didnt like the game so you can get a balance" but to be truthful I dont know where you owuld find them. Even if you go to the generic "strategic games" discussions such as the comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.strategic newsgroup you would have a hard time finding people who tried it and didnt like it. They will all say they either got scared off early by things like graphics or learning curve or price, or they love it. Maybe if you asked in something like one of the adventure/shooter game Groups but the propblem there is that it would be obvious why they didnt like it.
