No spellcasting in berserk. Usuallu if you wish for a cursed item, you can remove it by wishing for something else that fits in the same slot. In that case the cursed item is redeposited in the lab.

How to get rid of the harvest blade? simplest method is to get your pretender killed, and recall him. You will lose 1 form each magic skill, but nothing else.

Gems: If a 2nd lvl Earth have to cast a 3rd level earth he can spend 1 Earth Gem to cast it.
He can spend 4 Gems to cast a 6th level earth spell?
No, he cant. You can only spend one gem to gain one level that way. He can, however, spend more than one gems to cast a 3-level spell that uses horrendouns amounts of fatique to make it easier to cast. like, lift his level up to 6 by speding 4 gems to cast a 3-level spell with 300 fatique. (which would thus become 100-fatique spell.)

I remember a site that tells you all of the wishes and results of them, I forgot where it was though.

BTW, don't wish for "death"

Speaking of Transformation...

Is Transformation *ever* really worthwhile? In an experimental game, I had 5 or 6 nature-3 mages cast it, and the results were never beneficial. Even if I had just used nature-1 mages boosted with items, it wouldn't have been worthwhile. Why would anyone ever use it?

Oh, do wish for Death, at least once. Just, er, cast Twiceborn first.

Sunray's Virtual Library. Wish is about a third of the way down the page.

Haven't cast it in Dom2, but in Dom1 I was not displeased to get a chimera from a jade amazon. It might take more than one cast to get something nice, though. Swine, hawks, and wolves were not really to my taste. Nor were drakes or bog beasts, but that may be more a matter of opinion. See some discussion here.

Does luck factor into Transformation quality? I habitually take decent-to-good luck, and rarely have the caster die or turn into a foulspawn. It's rarely even the case that it takes more than one or two trys to turn 'em into something at least tolerable...

I think it's worthwhile - often you trade in a simple human with 10 hp and get a rather tougher beast which is much more resilient in combat. So you're not going to get a SC, but if that isn't your expectation you'll probably be pleasantly surprsised.

In my experiments, I didn't really have any expectations, I was just curious about what the results would be. In those 5-6 tests, I think I ended up with foul spawns in every case but one.

Perhaps the problem was that I used Coatl for most (all?) of those experiments? (Those were the 3-n mages I had available, and I didn't know that unusable path-booster items on the transformed mage would get placed in the lab rather than lost).

That other thread on transformation seemd to imply that mages typically kept their magic and so could recast transformation and try again. I'm not 100% sure now, but I really don't think that any of the transformed Coatls had 3-N, 3-S afterwards. I believe that only 1-2 of my transformations had any magic ability at all afterwards. So for me, Transformation seemed like a good way to spend nature gems to transform a mage into a foul spawn which may or may not have magic ability.

I guess I'l have to experiment with low-end mages and see if that works out any better.

Those foul spawns of yours probably had had their minds damaged (ie feeble minded), and that would be why they wouldn't show any magic. Heal them, and they cast spells all right. Or?

My experience has been different. In a still ongoing MP I put six druids to cast that one (hey, I just wanted to see how it works and _at_that_time_ wasn't yet fighting against the top-2 duo alone ) and got one foul spawn (with feeble mindness), two or three chimeiras, and the rest were bog beasts and an ice drake. Quite nice, though Luck 3 -dominion might have had something to do with that.

Only then I noted that all of those had far more HPs than my regular troops and thus were the first targets to paralyze spell all my opponents are _so_ fond of using.

Default Wish ... Berserk ... Gems ... ???

Wish ...
I used it but I noticed:
A: Power wishing cannot be double, I wasted a Wish. It would be nice to put an alarm.
B: An item wished appears in the hand of the Caster, not in the laboratory. And if I wish for a cursed item but I need it for someonelse?
C: How's possible to Wish for Power, or Magic Power for someone else? (ie the Prophet). Someone told me it'isn't possible. Why not?

Berserk: It's possible to spellcast in berserk?

(well my pretender wished for Harvest Blade and now I wasted all his magic skills --- about 40 total levels beetween items and his own magic)

Gems: If a 2nd lvl Earth have to cast a 3rd level earth he can spend 1 Earth Gem to cast it.
He can spend 4 Gems to cast a 6th level earth spell?

How do I get rid of a Cursed Item (harvest blade)?

Thanks
