Default Shrinking planet capacitly??

Is there anything else that can change the amount of facilities you can put on a planet, other than the races living on it?

One turn for example I have 3/3 facilities on a particular planet. The next I have 3/2 meaning somehow I seem to have less capacity. I haven't changed the population. What happened?

Another question. If another player does something to you, will you always get a notification in your log? In other words, can he steal tech, or cause a planet to riot, or steal a planter or a ship, and you never know it happened?

The first: dunno.

The second: currently no, but the intel Messages are configurable.. you could add "stealth" intel options that say the same thing as an event (for ship damage, etc). Not sure if you could do that for info stealing though.

I don't know about your other questions, but if a ship or planet is stolen, and you have other ships/planets in the same system, the quadrant map will show the multiple races triangle in the system.

I believe that the advanced storage trait gives you higher planet capacity. it used to be that if you take over a planet from a race that has this triat, and they had max facilities, they would have had, say 3/3. your race does not have that trait, but the facilities dont get scrapped when you take it over, so you end up with 3/2 facilities. or something similar. i dont know if 1.41 has done something odd with this either, under what circumstances did you see the change? just upgrade? conquered race or planet? planet a gift from another race? edit your race somehow mid-game? spontanious downgrade?

A side note on the advanced storage trait: races with this trait don't seem to start off with the extra population on their homeworlds. My current game has the Terrans playing (who use the Advanced Storage Trait). When I looked at the comparisons screen, I noticed that their population had steadily increased for the first 30 turns or so, and then leveled off. A few calculations showed that they started with 4000M people on each homeworld, and then grew to 4800M people on each homeworld over those 30 turns (approx.). I don't know if they started off with facility slots full or not; I kinda hope so...

If you recently installed a patch that could be it, as the Advanced storage techniques don't affect planets that hold 4 facilities or less. The SectType.txt I believe uses different numbers for each sector than in previous patches. So when you installed the patch you affectively changed the size of the planet from a medium to a small.

That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it.
