Afflictions and Gems
2 things...
How do you heal an affliction, if you are not Arco? My poor poor pretender needs his eye back.
2nd... What are good ways to achieve a steady gem income, for early, mid and late game?
I try to have mages search for sites and such when I can, but it seems to not be worth the time sometimes when i could have them researching or summoning, instead of traveling between provinces and searching.
gracias

Re: Afflictions and Gems
There are 4 ways besides an Arco Preistess to heal an affliction.
1. Cast the global spell Gift of Health. That spell hels units in your dominion.
2. Summon a Fairy Queen. She gets the Heal ability just like a Priestess.
3. Forge the unique artifact The Chalice. That heals afflictions on units in the same province.
4. There is a T'ien Ch'i hero with the heal ability - her name escapes me at the moment.
Searching for sites is just something you have to bite the bullet and do - although you can suppliment with the site searching spells like Auspex.

If you have lost an eye, another quick solution is forging a new eye...
Honestly, I sometimes consider using e.g. "Eye of Aiming" to replace lost eyes, but beware, those eyes cannot be removed and take up a misc item slot, but an Eye of Aiming makes your mages hit once in while!

Re: Afflictions and Gems
actually, I just started a carrion wood game, and my pretender (Lord of the Wild) got the ol javelin put to his eye. But after 2 turns researching in the capital, I noticed that his affliction is...gone. a bug? or the beta

Re: Afflictions and Gems
Your Lord of the Wild has the Recuperation ability, which allows him to heal afflictions over time (the same would go for Immortal Pretenders). You cannot get the Recuperation ability in the course of the game, so you will have to start with it.

Re: Afflictions and Gems
No, that is perfectly normal for a Lord of the Wild, since he has an ability called "Recuperation" (The symbol with the snake). Take a look at liga's skill explanation page, if you find that the information you get by right-clicking the symbols is not enough (which it sometimes truly is).

Re: Afflictions and Gems
Well it's both. It _is_ the recuperation ability. The fact that it's the beta means that you don't get to see an icon for it, but the ability is still there.
