Re: Success on Seducing ?
Yes, she was cute.
I think a Suc. may be the best non-pretender assassin out without a black heart, although Chazar (the Abysian Slayer hero) may come close (no life drain but he cannot be banished and is fire immune, for what it's worth).
I have had pretty bad luck with seductions, my best was a luke-warm vanilla "Commander".
My favorite assassins are those with glamour, since I hate having my assassin caught by capital PD and/or patrollers, and so hence I like the black heart -- on a Hangadrott. A Faerie Queen isn't bad either, I have lots of success with her too.

According to Edi's Unit-DB, there is an Abysian-Slayer-Hero who responses to the name "Chuzrael", but none to "Chazar". Puh! That was close - I mean, I would not object against being a hero, but I would mind being Abysian, for I really prefer the delicate elegance of Caelians and the soothing touch of ice and...
BTW, my best succubus returned once with an Ulmish commander wearing full plate. How could she fly back with such a heavily tinned guy? Shouldn't he shed the armor during seduction? Poor succubus...

I believe one of the Demon Lords (Bel-something) can corrupt commanders, effectively about the same as Succubus' seduction. So, I'd count him as the most powerful non-Pretender assasin, having high stats and nature/fire/blood magic more than you need.

Re: Success on Seducing ?
Succubi are nifty, but the lack of an armor slot hurts somewhat.
There's Belial, Lord of Corruption, IIRC, who has the 'corrupt commander' option; this presumably works on a broader audience than seduction. I believe I've corrupted Banes, for instance, Belial also can't wear armor (none of the Demon Lords can), but he's got quite a few more hp so it matters less. The Mictlan Lord of the Night gets all slots, but is a Mictlan-only pretender. *shrug*
The ethereal assassins would be Elludian Stalkers, IIRC; you can get them from either a random event, or if you find the high-astral site "The Hidden Kingdom of Elludia". They're rather ordinary aside from the intrinsic etherealness -- in terms of hp and armament, for instance.

I haven't seen one in a long time so I could be completely wrong here - but aren't they also much more stealthy than your average assassin? Something like stealthy(+20)? That alone would make them worth considering - although they still need a cheap item or 2 to be really usable.
[Edit: Silly me - I forgot I got one (random event) in an ongoing MP game! They indeed have Stealth(+20) - as well as pretty good stats for an human.]

Re: Success on Seducing ?
Hm, interesting. That does make 'em stealthier than most assassins -- most being at +0, IIRC, with the notable exception of Ashikagan Jonins (+25 or so, which seems to be fairly usual for Glamour units; but outside of mods, a Glamour'd assassin is a bit rare sans black heart).

Once you start equiping your assassins, the rules change. I think that a lowly
C'tis empoisoner can take out pretty much anyone and anything unless it is
scripted expressely against assassination. How?
A standard of the Damned, a wraith crown, and a ring of sorcery will give him
the drain life spell, a meat shield, and the ability to raise more skeletons.
Stack the decks further with a luck amulet, a chainmail of displacement, and
boots of quickness, and you are looking at a monster... and an expensive one,
at that. But I have seen some people get crazy in the late game...
In tune with Yvelina's empowered succubus, here is a sample of what I found
behind my defenses once. It easily wiped out 35 wolves and eleven points of
lizard province defense... but frankly, is it worth the gems investment?

I guess it depends on one's values, but in general no, that's a lot of expensive gear which I'd put on someone else besides a black servant, in general. I have used equipped black servants to very good effect, but not with such expensive stuff.

Re: Success on Seducing ?
What's the formula for a seduction success rate of the succubi ?
Do magic paths and experience provide resistance?
I know what can and cannot be seduced... but there is nothing describing the formula. I already know priests and holy units are less likely to be seduced... but it would be nice to know the formula.
I've done some more searching but no luck. Hopefully the developers know... or someone.

Re: Success on Seducing ?
Mrl and MR affects the chance. Thus experienced soldiers are less likely to be seduced.
