Default Shield Disrupter

I've playing around with the shield disrupter (the one that kills shield generators). I have got one of these on my Close Combat class of DNs, to "prepared" an enemy ship for boarding. It is a very good weapon, one shot (heavy mount) can kill off 4 shield generators, an AI battlecruiser usually only carries three.

The problem is, when I use it to kill off the shield generators, then try to board the ship, I get a message saying that the shield is still up (but obviously it isn't, since the shield generators are destoryed). The only solution I found is to fire one more shot at the ship, which can be anything from shield depleter to polaron beam. This is a bug is it? It certain doesn't make sense if this is intentional.

Don't know the status. If your plan is to use these ships in tactial combat you shouldn't have a problem. If you are planning on using them in strategic combat, you'll probably have to add a single low power weapon, like a Pbb, or duc along with the shield depleters. preaferably the duc, because the Pbb will be happily taking out internal components all along while your shield depleters work on the shields. The Duc will only get one clean shot at the ship once the shields collapse and then move in to board.
