the Legend of Galactic Heroes Mod

Does anyone know the sci-fic novel/cartoon "the Legend of Galactic Heroes", which is popular in Japan? Though no one seems playing SE4 in Japan, it includes every elements needed in making an interesting SE4 mod:
1.official galaxy map
2.complete shipsets,troops,fleets,technology system,planet facilities
3.artificial planet just like death star which locates in the only space corridor connecting the two countries. It will cost your entire empire fleets to occupy it.
4.long complete story with detailed fleet tactic descriptions

It has been made in games for several editions in Japan.

It certainly looks interesting, very detailed which is what I like. The site I read about it on though says it is not available in english so I would suppose no one outside Japan is very familiar with it, apart from the dubbed pilot shown at anime expo.

I've seen 40 of the over 100 eps and I have to say I like it though of course SEIV could never match the scale as the largest fleet I've seen in LOTGH is over 200,000 ships.

You'd have to treat ships like they were fighters or something... or make it a MMO game with a thousand people controlling 200 ships each.

Spending all summer giving orders to your ships for one turn would not be fun.

there is a pretty good fan-sub being made. theyre up to 40 or 50 episodes, or so.


you could play it "scaled down" where the fleets are just regular fleets. you would have to edit the tech tree a little bit, and get rid of stelar manipulation. play on a custom map, and maybe set it up as a scenario where each empire already has a bunch of colonized worlds.

set up the fortress as a sphereworld with a lot of weapon platforms.
