Map border oddity
First of all, awesome game! You guys have really outdone yourselves with this Windows conversion of SPMBT!!
OK, I'm playing a gen'd campaing, USMC vs NVN, and I'm using a 70 wide by 30 high map for a company level action. The entire map is bordered by grey hexes, and some of the objective hexes have ended up in the grey border, which means I can't get at them. Being that this is an assault, every point counts, but I won't be able to recover at least three of the vp hexes. Save game is attached.

Re: Map border oddity
This has never happened to be, but if you don't mind losing some units, here's what to do: Approach the border until your unit is in the hex bordering the flag. With the unit selected, press Alt and click on the flag. Should make your unit flee from combat, but I suspect it isn't considered "lost".

Re: Map border oddity
Here is another 30x70 example with a whole objectives group outside of the map. I've only been able to reproduce this with assault games.

I'll have a look into this one.
For now, for those battles that allow you to view the map as player 1 you can use the respin objectives button, or the manual objective pacement features to fix these (I think that applies an a campaign game as well)

Every now and then this will happen with small maps but the "Redraw victory hexes" button ( second row left side ) on the 'View Map" screen allows you to change those if there are some set some out of bounds. We've "fixed" this before and every once and awhile someone gets a string of them.

Re: Map border oddity
Thanks! I'll remember to check the location of the victory hexes when reviewing the map, and move them if they're out of bounds.

Re: Map border oddity
Talking about map oddities Iīm experiencing these two issues:
1.- I have this scenario (Russia vs GB ME)on a 30x40 map with a victory hex located on the upper left corner of the map. I just couldnīt edit that v hex with the scen editor The point is: I played the scenario as russia and by turn 3 I didnīt encounter much resistance, so I switched sides and I realized that almost all GBīs units headed towards the off map victory hex and vanished from battle, meaning they got off map. Attached is the scenario (No. 160) and a couple of screen shots
2.- After experiencing the above mentioned shortcoming I switched to battle mode and loaded the same map, this time I was able to re-locate all v hexes inside the map, so I bought my force and the AIīs, turning just itīs purchasing option to human(Iīm doing some experimentations), and again after a couple of turns I wasnīt given much resistance, so again I switched sides and noticed that there wasnīt any armor, a full platoon of chieftains was not there and listed as "reinforce 3", somehow the AI deployed em that way. I thought reinforcements were available only in scenarios not in battles, as I donīt recall reading about it in the game manual. Attached is the saved game (the GBīs tanks are about to enter the field)
Iīm running v 2.51 CD, I hope someone can help, thanks in advance.

*********ALL vicotry hexes must be placed when building a sceanrio even if you do not need them all just give them zero for a value and "hide" them under the ones you do use

********* The AI will, on occasion, make units reinforcements and that's what it did with your chieftains.

Thanks for the reply Don, I appreciate
My problem is I canīt edit that hex in any form with the editor, so I canīt hide it nor assign it any value. Is it "normal" (or a known issue) for units to get off the field when one of this off map v hexes appear?
Thanks in advance

Re: Map border oddity
You don't edit that hex. You edit the V hex flags. Press " N " then " O "( the letter not the number ) to center the red hex outline on the V hex you are working on. Once you see the red outline around the one in the upper left move it to where you want it. There were a half dozen or so in the upper left. Attached is the correction. You just need to ensure they have no value then hide them in with the ones that do have value( the one "Russian" one was worth 200 points and that's why all the Brits went for it )
Attached is sceanrio 160 corrected
