Re: Advertising Star Trek A New Era
Hi!
I just checked and you have already released a 1.92 patch.
Does really much change?

Re: Advertising Star Trek A New Era
I have never ever played a multiplayer game, I have only played solo, but I just love the star trek mod and I really want to do a first multi.
if I want to join this game (and you want me!) what do I actually have to do? and also what should I need to know (is there a faq) to get me familiar, or general things i need to do before going multi?
Thanks

First of all, go here: http://pbw.cc/graphic/index.jsp
At the top left of the page should be a FAQ link (the question mark). If the FAQ link isn't there, you probably have to register first, then you'll have access to the FAQ, and you'll have the ability to join multiplayer games. You'll have to first know what your host is planning on naming the game of course. That should get you started, and it should be easy to figure out from there. If you get stuck, post here and we'll help you out.

I want to play as oriopns as I guess they are all that is left, but I am not sure how to :S
I do not really understand shipsets, I simply downloaded the mod and played it! what files shall I upload, or are there any changes to make?
also one thing I do when I play at home on my own is disable applied inteligence as I didnt really like this part of the game, when I am in the game obviously it will be on and I am happy to do it, but I know nothing about it! how many spy places should I build and do you just keep counter on :S any help here is appreciated!
Thanks

Re: Advertising Star Trek A New Era
Here is a basic rundown of Intel.
There are 3 counter intelligence projects, 1-3.
When you put points into a CI project it is stored there. When someone tries to use Intel on you their attacking project subtracts a number of points from your CI depending on which level it is. CI 1 is subtracted 1:1, the CI 2 is 2:1, and finally CI 3 is 3:1. Since the points in CI are stored to defeat attacks it is important not to let them be completed as you then lose all those points you stored. The end result is that you should end up with up to 12 CI projects (depending on if you wish to attack) all of which are within 1 turn of completion. After that you will have to let them end 1 by 1 but by that point you should have plenty of Intel points per turn to fill in another one.

Re: Advertising Star Trek A New Era
Hi!
There are the Orion or Tholian spot free and the DS9 or United Consortium of Planets( Ex Marquis). So if you choose one of them you start as a major race and can create your emp file with 5000 points. No matter what you choose you have to disable the pbw research trait. If you play the Orions make sure to take the pirate colony trait or you must capture all colonyships. So perhaps you would better go as Tholian or one of the DS)/UCP race.
The Intel projects you are allowed to and are to choose by your own are free agreement, meaning we trust each othr not to use any other than those we designate at the beginning.
I will send you a mail with the modfiles you need in addition th atrocities star trek mod 1.9.1.2
Instalöl at first the 1.9.1.2 mod and then take my files and copy them into your 1.9.1.2. folder then you are ready to go!

Re: Advertising Star Trek A New Era
Okay to all who haven´t downloaded my mod till now!
There is a new post labeled ralf´s Star Trek Mod.
I have attached the mod files there ( 10 MB)
For all those who haven´t heard till now:
You must have Atrocities Star Trek Mod 1.9.1.2 and them copy my modfiles into that folder as it is no stand alone mod but a modification of named mod.
WilHil and NullAshton please check that post and download your files there!
to all!
The attachment here need to be unzipped into your race/generic folder!
It contains some ships for the generic races in order to rn them properly!

Re: Advertising Star Trek A New Era
I promise in game I will give a nice fight! but I just dont know intel!
I am trying to understand what you are saying, so each completed intel project gives me some points, and then each intel project against me takes away a completed project, so basically I should always have a completed intel project... or do I only have counter intel points whilst the research is in progress, and when it is complete that is it?... am I best to just have a few spy centers on each planet and just have 12 counters going at all time!?
sorry but as I said this is the only area I do not know.
as for playing the game, I am downloading the mod right now, can ?I? just upload the default shipset, as I am not to sure on how to make the changes... I love the game, just dont understand fully how it works!
or if there are some changes I should make, please can you just give me the lowdown on what is recommended.
Thanks
