SE4 1.91 Gold, Game freezing at loading screen

Hi, I just installed SP4 Gold after about a year away and the game freezes at the load screen exactly at 4% everytime. I updated to 1.91 and I'm still having the same problem. Any suggestions?

I'm currently running Windows XP Service Pack 2 on a P4 3.0 GHZ Prescott, 1GB dual channel OCZ memory, Geforce FX-5950 128MB video card, Sound blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card and a 250 GB hard drive.

try re installing it would be my first guess, if that doesnt work, open a tutorial and look in the manuel for troyble shooting.

Try removing any CDs in your drive.

The problem is that if the CD music is set to on and there is a non-audio CD in the drive - the game will hang.

Try setting the game to emulate Windows NT or 98 mode. Check the settings on your virus program.

Thanks guys I fixed it. It was that audio CD problem, I just edited the setting to false and it works great. Kind of annoying though, shouldn't this setting be off by default?

Why should it be off by default? It's supposed to play the music for the game. However it would've been better if the game detected if the CD in the drive was the correct one before playing though.

Well, most people I know rarely ever use audio cds on their PCs anymore, its all about the mp3s.
