				 A possible competitor...
I was bored, and was looking for a Star! website...and came across this...IGN article--Reach for the Stars
Reach for the Stars Homepage
I doubt it will be even close to SE5, but it might draw peole how dont want to evolve alot of time and effort to a big 4x game.

Clearly it is mired in a single universe, and I don't see much opportunity for modding or customisation. I agree it seems more likely for people not prepared to micro-manage. |

I played this awhile back. It lasted about three weeks. It has some interesting mechanics, but it doesn't stand up to SEIV. |

Hasn't this game been in the works for a long time but due to publishing issues and stuff has been constantly put on hold, etc?
 Sorry for a minor hi-jack:

HI GW, I've noticed your website is down - is this a permanent situation?

How Weird. I ran across my copy of STARS! in a box in a plastic bag in my garage this weekend. SEIV beats it with no question.

Reach for the stars came out in 2000 and was a dismal game at best.

Kwok - yes, my site is down for the count. Some jerkoff hacker in Europe tried to hijack it's e-mail for dubious purposes , and I closed it down to head off further trouble. |

Sorry to hear that General. I had to close down my AST.com email because of simular issues. Suxs.
