Blood magic buffs

Hi All,

Just a quickie - I've just summoned my first ever Heliophagus, and I got the 4-blood guy (Mastema). If I want to use him as an SC, what are the decent buff spells? And what does that mean for his equipment? I've never used a blood SC before - Ice Devils and Arch Devils are usually enough!

Blood vengeance is about it. Very good, but you have to have a scout with boots of flying to lug around slaves.

Bloodlust for more strenght or rain of blood to get enemies to run away faster perhaps.

Pain transfer might be good, never tried it.

In certain situations, Hell Power might work. It's main power is the magic boost 2, but it does give some physical boni, at least strength. I don't know if it offers anything else. EDIT: Just in case... it does carry a big risk to summon horrors, and leaves a horror mark behind.
