Thank you for Stalingrad
I´m completely hooked with the Stalingard ´42 campaign. I know it has been there for a long time, but I´ve neglected SPWW2 for SPMBT. However now I won´t anymore. The map is great, playability is super, the story and contiunity of campaign, largely, because it revolves in the same large map, is stunning. I hadn´t had this much fun since SP2 came out!
I wan´t more this kind of great work!

Glad you like it. There are more scripted campaigns in the works

Re: Thank you for Stalingrad
Agreed on the campaign theme, very nice !
But I was kind of disappointed with the first scenario : how can one win it with footslugging infantry in 20 turns, knowing that just crossing the map to the objectives takes all that time (or a little more!) at full speed ? Are we supposed to run in the middle of the road and in minefields ?
Or is it done just to make the player lose - or get a draw at best ? I got a marginal defeat and was 1 turn short of taking the 2x200 pts "Prison" objective that would have make it a draw...
More generally I'm rather fed up with all that "run to the flag in 1h20 or Adolf (or Josef or whatever) will lose the war" , I'd prefer real combat challenges !
Pyros scenarios in Greece are a real change for that purpose, but there are so few like that...

Re: Thank you for Stalingrad
Pick scouts and snipers and send them out to spot for you...have arty on call to drop into the areas you are advancing into...also make sure you have engineers armor support to move up. It is possible to get a decisive on this one but you have to coordinate all your forces.

Thanks, but :
1/ I picked forces as suggested in the campaign briefing, to be "historical", so no snipers/scouts, no engineer armor and only few arty (as support : if I had taken Eng tanks I would have had no arty)
2/ I didn't try it for real, but I think that supposing you stay on the road and go to full speed your infantry can reach the opposite map edge (where last objectives are) in 12-14 turns at best. But the roads are mined, and the defenders have 3 ranks of units ! So really I can't see how you can get these flags except by a gamey "flag run" with mounted infantry when you know there are no more enemy units in the way...

Re: Thank you for Stalingrad
I somewhat cheated. Meaning that I didn´t take the "historical" mix of forces. A few Tigers will help in difficult situations. However I do think that the first battle is the hardest one, because of the time limit.

It's not a scenario but a campaign of linked scenario's. Look for it under 'campaigns' in the game.

Scenario's or Campaigns? You should be able to find some good scenario's made by Wulfir right here in this thread --> Allied and Minor Nation(s) Scenarios.
