Glory of the Gods map question
I am playing this excellent map from Jason Lutes, 17 AIs on "Mighty", having a blast so far.
I have a question - does some of these these little drawn icons on the map, sich as obelicks, stonehedges, etc indicate some special provinces? ( as it was on "Cradle" map with special magic provinces, IIRC. )

Or are they there for purely artistic reasons?

Re: Glory of the Gods map question
Just did a quick scan of the map file. I thought maybe that the "many sites" flag had been set, but it appears not. The icons are just decoration. That would be a good project for an ambitious map editor.
btw: Beautiful map! |

Re: Glory of the Gods map question
Thanks, guys, glad you like it. On the Glory map the towers, fortresses, caves, etc., are just for decoration. If memory serves, they were just decoration on the Cradle map too (except for cities), but provinces with high site potential were marked with a "starburst" icon (and usually a henge or something for emphasis).
I'm still experimenting with different map drawing techniques. Hopefully Dominions players won't be confused if I mix things up a bit. If there's anything unusual about a map I draw, I'll write it up in the map description, as was done with Cradle.

 Thanks.
Even better, I got one of the players to fix it for me. |

Re: Glory of the Gods map question
In prep. for the PBEM game I am starting, the good fellow, Ygorl, found an error. Provinces 71 and 85 should be connected (the lake to the east) on the smaller MP version. |

Re: Glory of the Gods map question
Thanks, Pasha. It's easy enough to fix yourself if you open the .map in the map editor, then send the fixed file to your players. I've noted it for the next round of corrections, though. |
