Can someone post how to make a shortcut that will connect to a server directly?

Assuming you're in Windows?
In that case, make a shortcut to the app. Look at the shortcut's properties, and add --ipadr bob.joe.com --port 2345 to the end of the "Target" field.
caveat: I don't actually have a Windows machine, so I can't double-check this to make sure it works, but I bet it does.

Also add --tcpclient to make it connect automatically.

No, this should not be stickied. There's a FAQ for that.

My server status pages that are used for mine and Velusion's games show you what parameters you need exactly to connect to the game (if activated), it will be directly copied to your clipboard if you're on Windows, otherwise you can copy it via CTRL+C after moving the mouse pointer on the address.
