ventrilo-anyone use to set up or find games?
Is there a vent server that dominions players can use to talk on to set up games?

is there a reason people do not use vent? no mics?
Having played many online games like wow, vent was considered a necessity.
What is the chat channel?

The only one I know of is www.gamesurge.net/chat. When it loads type in /join #dominions and you should be good to go.
A good place to find blitzes and other games over the weekend. Also just an interesting place to participate in dominions dialog.

Re: ventrilo-anyone use to set up or find games?
I don't think Dominions needs a Ventrilo server. The action is fairly slow paced and I think forums and traditional mIRC chat is sufficient.
That being said, I play a couple of pvp games that require me to use vent, and I may be able to get us a dominions channel, but it will be a hard sell. Guys who play l33tsauce games like that will think this game is lame

Re: ventrilo-anyone use to set up or find games?
Actually in the past I have mentioned Skype which looked to be the winner in the voice-over-net arena. But then I was told that ts "Team Speak" was taking the lead for gamers. This is the first time Ive heard anyone say that Ventrilo was in the lead. Personally Id rather go with GAIM (pidgin) since it also talks to everyones IM. In any case I was willing to run a server for whatever if it made things run better. Preferably something that is directly supported by my OS (in the auto-update catalog).
I think that eventually a multi-user voice channel will catch up to the game but we will probably end up having to take a poll to pick one.

Re: ventrilo-anyone use to set up or find games?
Not all. Many WoW guilds use TeamSpeak. But very few use Skype. Actually in conversations in the WoW forums comparing them all its fairly common to agree that Xfire is best but thats the new upcoming one that people are pushing as "everyone should use this". It does look awfully good but I havent tried it yet.

Re: ventrilo-anyone use to set up or find games?
Vent is the best. There is no comparison between Teamspeak and Ventrilo. People use teamspeak because they have been using it since before Ventrilo came out, but there is no comparison on quality, memory usage and flexibility.
