You actually do have my undivided unqualified sympathy on this. I think that this is exceptionally tough, especially given the ludicrous American work efthic to holidays - I am a supporter of the European concept of work hard, play hard and as us Brits work the longest hours in Europe, the 5-6 weeks holiday we get a year are even more precious

What sort of ludricrous pomposity makes your empire consider that we would submit anything in triplicate to you in order to seek consent or waste paper which could be more usefully employed as toilet roll.

Why would the glorious Tigga Confederation seek consent from an empire that sounds like us wretching up furballs?

In respect of your accusation that we have intruded on the Attica system, you should be aware, as is all galactic civilisation, that the Attica system is assigned to us as our ancient litter tray. If you wish to live in the catsan, you are most welcome but do not be surprised if we then leave a few Messages there. And as for 'hideous looking spawn', we are cats, we are cool, we look good doing anything.

Your 'valiant and superior naval forces' have as much chance of trouncing the glorious fleets of the Tigga Confederation as you do of winning Miss Universe.

Guff, I do reccomend these books to you most wholeheartily.

Start with "Sundiver" or "Startide Rising" and then follow the books in order.

Excellent ideas from a very good author. The basis galactic concept is that all the galactic races are dividied into clans of which several major races are "patrons" who have "uplifted" "client" races

what this means is anti-darwinism, basically, a sentient but non-sapient race is discovered by a spacefaring race who then adopts them (and becomes their patron) and over the next few thousand years, genetically modifies them (uplifts) to increase intelligence and makes them a spacefaring race. The subject race then becomes a client of the patron race for 100 thousand years and it is then allowed to go its own way.

Central to the books was that humans were not uplifted by a patron race but were evolved on their own. Before first contact, they had also genetically modified chimps and dolphins to intelligence.

Excellent idea, excellent books, damn fine reading material for the bog

oh right, you are still studying law - that explains why you were writing up a verdict

here in England, law takes a 3-4 year degree, 1 year at law school and then 2 years training at which you are then officially qualified - I am now 5 years post qualification experience so I can give you this advice - DONT DO IT - go and work in McDonalds instead, it is more fun.

Whatever they have told you, it is not true, the travelling the world, the women, the fame and glory is not true and you dont even get your own swamp!!!

that being said, I did read in the legal press about the German lawyer who made 8 million euro in one year
