Stone Sword
Why does the stone sword affect gargoyles who are already stone? Someone tell me this is not working as intended?

Re: Stone Sword
Perhaps it turns them from moving, magically animated stone into solid rock and over-rides what-ever sort of magics were used in their creation?

Re: Stone Sword
We have many bright and imaginative people on this board, and you are one of them. I am sure a "plausible" explanation can be found to cover any scenario.
No one is a bigger fan of petrify than i, as MA Pangaea is my favorite race, and the Gorgon my favorite pretender. But it really should not work against
1. Blind; and 2. Stone beings.
I think the problem is that there is no designation of living statues and gargoyles as "stone." And that needs to be in the game if petrify is also in the game. In the rock, scissors, paper nature of complex strategy games, I think stone beings should be labeled as such and be immune to petrify.

Re: Stone Sword
I would think the stone sword would affect blind troops, since it's the sword's touch-I'm speculating-rather than the sight of it-that turns a being into stone.

Re: Stone Sword
I agree that sword and spell should work on blind beings. Not Gorgon, not artifact shield, because the petrify effect acts before the hit is taken, so has to be sight based.
But it would be nice if the sword did not act on stone beings. Not necessary, but nice.

Re: Stone Sword
I think he means stone units shouldn't turn to stone, and neither stone nor blind units should be petrified by Gorgon (the blind units are there because they cannot see the Gorgon).

Re: Stone Sword
There is a flag for stone beings. I thought it made stone beings immune to petrify. At least it makes them vulnerable to shatter etc .

Re: Stone Sword
What flag is this? Inanimate? Well, would it be possible to have Petrify change Lumber Constructs into Crashers?

Re: Stone Sword
I can confirm the gargoyles are not immune to petrify. Let me test living statues.
