New patch issue: game won\'t start.
Hello fellow dominions fans. I just freshly installed D3 on my pc running ubuntu. After the install, I dragged the contents of the patch folder to the game folder, told it to replace if necessary, and crapping my pants with pure excitement, attempted to run the game, using all three executable files provided. No reaction, none at all.
Pre-patch, it worked great. I fired it up and made sure that it seemed to work in a linux environment. Only after installing the patch did things go sour. Any ideas? Is this a bug, or am I just an idiot?

You may need to set executable flags for the binaries. Zip files like the patches don't save this kind of information.

What is the error message? Even if the binary fails to execute, there should be a message pointing in a particular direction -- permissions, dynamic linker issues, or so forth.

Not if he is running it outside a console, then he will see nothing.

Well, that's taken care of. Thanks guys!
Are there many more professional quality Linux games that are more than an Arena with guns?

thepodger, yes there are lots of good games, although not always as interesting. Battle for Wesnoth is a nice game, too, google for it.

Wesnoth is nice, but the game is very basic with its evolution moving way to slow for my taste.
