Default Map Modding Question

So I have generated a really cool map but there are some ocean provinces that I would like to turn to land to connect a few places by land. I know you can change this in the map editor but what it does not change is the actual look of the province as it still looks like ocean. How do you change both the type and the look? Thanks!

The map editor itself can't do anything to the image- if you want it to look like land you have to load the image file into some kind of art/photoshop program and change it.

What quantum said. You can change the map however you want, as long as you don't touch the pure white pixels (255, 255, 255) that mark the center of a province. If it goes missing, the province will disappear, and if it's moved into a different place the numbering (and thus, the terrains) of most provinces could change.

It might be easier to connect provinces in both side of the sea and draw little anchor images in the water close to them. Many maps have used that kind of a visual clue to indicate overseas province connection.
