				 Bloop
see its become related to the mythic city of R'lyeh by fantasy and Lovecraft buffs; so it's not _really_ off topic.Bloop wiki entry
but doesn't it have a strange sort of harmony to it? I actually enjoy listening to it, even if it is kinda weird creepy.
Bloop .wav file in realtime (click to listen)
Oh! and with noise reduction too!
 Bloop with noise reduction
brings out its atonal yet harmonic qualities. Sounds like something from Cthulhu to me. Atonal harmony, non Euclidean geometry. |

 I'm a big Bloop fan.
I think there's creatures down there that we can't even imagine.

Okay, that is amazing..... But also incredibly disturbing.
Ladies and Gentlemen, let's all give a round of applause for..... The Kraken!

Oh and BTW, here's some more, though for some reason NOAA only posts them in compressed forms, running at 10x-16x normal speed, maybe just to be miserly with bandwidth, I dunno.http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/vents/acous...s_mystery.html |

Following the "See also" links from Blood onwards was quite interesting. I almost was late for work. |

Not the Kraken-the Kraken is just a minnow, we're talking about the Leviathan Something perhaps several times larger than a blue whale.

 | 'wiki-surfing' is actually one of my fave pastimes, and how i found bloop to begin with. start at a page, and see how far astray you can get by just clicking links.

Something like starting out at Maine Coon
somehow get to
 Vagina Dentata
wander along trivial backroads to
 Vampire Squid
and the path from there to bloop and r'lyeh are kinda obvious. i mean, vampire squid, com'on

all the while, i'm wondering how the hell anybody could possibly even want to watch television. |

				 Re: Bloop
Because TV is like crack, but a WHOLE LOT cheaper. O.o
Whereas the internet is like LSD, but a heckuva lot more expensive. Erego, we are masochists.

I really want to lead an expedition to find R'lyeh now. I'd rather find it and go crazy or die, than live in ignorance and be totally upset by the rising of the Illithids. |

 @ Omnirizon,
Ok.

We need a female commander with the Vagina Dentata trait.

And her to be a Seducer ...
