Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
I remain in a bit of a bind.
As expected, Caelum has continued raiding - and although Sauromatia is suffering more severe losses than I am (including many summoned troops), he doesn't have a major raiding force on his other border.
I'm not sure what I can do, at this stage of the game, about Caelum's ghost king. Sauromatia is now a pathetic shell - he has poison archers and skeleton spam, but all his melle troops are dead.
Caelum is unreduced, and if no-one else wants to help deal with him, the situation appears grim to our heroes.

I don't know who else borders with Caelum, but really, you need to understand 2 things - first they are as busy as they're going to get, and second, if you don't cause them problems before they secure another set of capitals, everyone is going to die.
This has been a public service announcement for the "Haven't you seen Alfred Hitchcock's movie _Birds_? Foundation".

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
The Sauromarignonian Alliance is as strong as ever. Just because we don't fit Abysia's ideal image of an army, full of plodding infantry perhaps, it doesn't mean we are weak. Abysia's Burning Ones fared very poorly against poison archers and skelly spam this month. It's an effective force.
EA Abysia in its pride refused to negotiate a settlement for the expansion provinces of Sauromatia that it had greedily swallowed up in its overly hasty expansion. EA Abysia was then lucky to attack Sauromatia on a turn where they staled, and until now had taken advantage of that disaster. But now they are paying the price for their hubris.
And now for something completely different:
There is a small chance that some of your nations may be visited unexpectedly by the MA Marignon Inquisition. We apologize in advance for these occurrences, and the Inquisition should not cause you any difficulty whatsoever since they will Return immediately from your lands. It's the nicest Inquisition you'll ever meet!

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
I just wish to announce that this turn Abyssia will loose his annointed priests sieging my capital without the possibility to harm my walls, as a breakout of their main sacred infantry failed miserably against my reinforcements.
Abyssia just managed to get to my capital while my main army chased him, arriving 2 turns after him. But now his forces are destroyed, and he shall pay bitter for his ignorance.
Our god shall also soon rejoin this world, a bit wiser about the usage of snake bladder staffs:/

Re: Preponderance - Big Team Game! [starting!]
To be clear:
1) That was not a breakout. I could've played round-and-round the mulberry bush forever if I wanted, except that I knew Caelum was about to jump on my capital.
2) The skelly spam trick only works if you have an enormous infantry army (about 130 units, in the most recent case) which you are willing to lose. With just the archers and skelly spam, the identical army will wipe him out.
That said, my position is certainly dire. What is the best strategy when facing two opponents at once? Don't get in that situation in the first place.
