Re: OT: "The Reincarnation", how about a Dominions Guild?
No, its far different from utopia in its mechanics, though there is some element of similarity in the metagame as it relates to guilds/alliances. However you can fully play TR solo, or with as small a group as you can get together.
Not that I've played utopia in years, but I still post on the real utopia board, not that joke which is jolt

I think he just means in the sense that you have this ephemeral "nation" that is somehow connected to all other "nations" in play, and has no literal graphical representation, but rather just an abstracted sum total of resources at your disposal, that you develop as you see fit, to produce a military, to attack "someone else".

yeah, sounded exactly like utopia from description this kind of thing always tempts me, but i shall resist from even looking. The years i lost with utopia were nothing to the years i lost to FaitH afterwards. I shudder to think what a third game like that would do to me..

Re: OT: "The Reincarnation", how about a Dominions Guild?
Ok, it's like utopia in the very abstract, but as I said the mechanics by which you play it are very very different.
The thing which ultimately drove most people away from utopia was the online time commitment it required if you were in a decent active kingdom (to say nothing of warkingdoms or super kingdoms).
TR has a solo server, which means you have ZERO requirements to anyone else, because everything is randomized and hidden.
It also has 4 other guild servers which run at different speeds or with slightly different rules (beta server being the biggest difference, but everything works more or less the same) so you have room to find what works for you.
I don't begrudge anyone not picking it up due to time constraints, but the guild server just finished the last set, so you can join it at a starting point.
Solo will end on the 4th so you can start a new mage there at the start as well.
I think it's worth a look if you've got the interest, and the time...
Though as I said, you can play it solo, or even with the lesser guilds, and not have to be always online at someone elses beck and call, you can schedule your 15-30m a day and run your mage during that time, indeed the structure of the game makes that a far superior way of playing than checking in every hour to spend your 5-12 turns as fast as you can.

Just a note that the Guild Server has just restarted, so get in soon if you want to try a set from the beginning!
My mage name is Caelum, seems appropriate to name your mage after a Dom3 nation just for identification purposes, even if we make no guild at least we'll know who not to bother

Re: OT: "The Reincarnation", how about a Dominions Guild?
Not a problem, it takes a while to get used to the flow of it anyway
Just remember that you don't want to research or attack on 600 land, you want to get to 1500+.
Getting your research done in a timely fashion really is the key to having some early success.
Of course it's fun to start attacking early too, but even that is easier if you have at least your colors primary spells (everything but the ultimates) researched.

No, but I've been registered for years now...
There was one guy from Romania on another forum who said he didn't get the confirmation email right away, but I haven't heard back from him in a while.
I can ask in the forums or PM a mod if you want me to.
