JU87 not turning
Hi
I have some JU87 G-1's strafing Russians and on the 3 runs so far Ive told them to enter on the bottom left and exit on the top left but for every run they have insisted on exiting on the top right.
Best regads Chuck.

Re: JU87 not turning
......and I also have some "JU87 G-1's strafing Russians and on the 3 runs so far Ive told them to enter on the bottom left and exit on the top left" and for every run they have done exactly what I asked and since you didn't offer a save game or tell me what type of game this was from my POV everything works fine and the "problem" is at your end.

You did remember to set up the air entry and exit points before you plotted the air strikes?
Cheers

Re: JU87 not turning
Just tested it - chuck actually found something.
Seems like it only happens with off-axis attacks.
I'll try to make a save where it happens consistently.

Re: JU87 not turning
Did they "lock on" a target and conduct a bombing/strafing run?
Was the target to the "right" side of the map?
Could the plane do a "low left entry - hit target - high left exit" in a simple path? Planes seem to follow a straight path up to a point, do one turn (or none at all) and exit (straight path). This maybe an "if I'm to hit the target then I won't be able to turn" thing. Maybe hitting an aquired target gets priority over following the preplanned route?
There were issues with the entry/exit hexes in the past. I think it was fixed. Personallly it has not bothered me recently.

Re: JU87 not turning
OK, I have one save that should good enough, if rather too unwieldy.
There are 40 air attacks plotted, the first one shows the bug, then some don't, then it depends on what the earlier ones did to the targets.

Go back and READ what I wrote. I set up the EXACT same test as he described in the first post AND EVERY STRAFING RUN "ENTERED ON THE BOTTOM LEFT AND EXIT ON THE TOP LEFT" or, if you prefer, an "off-axis attack"
I'll look at your save game.

Re: JU87 not turning
That was "fun" to watch.........
Of the 40 attacks all but 5 followed the proscribed flight path and the five that didn't do NOT indicate a "bug" they show that the randomness in the code that keeps the game from being 100% predictable is doing exactly what it's supposed to do

Er... I use "off-axis attack" to describe the aircraft shooting at a target not under its flight path; not an attack after which it changes course.

Yeah, sorry about that - I tried smaller games, but it simply refused to happen.

Ah, a feature.
Thanks for clearing that up.

OK, Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't look for attacks that were executed in that way. Of the 40 attacks 35 went in as planned and the 5 that didn't could be explained away as normal random game events but I will keep an eye on this to see if there may be a specific issue with the "off-axis" attack.
