SM and planet size

When creating a planet, does the asteroid field size corrospond to the size of the created planet?

The size of the planet cannot be larger than the size of the asteroids that it was created from. The planet could be smaller however depending on the tech level of planet creator you are using.

Example: A large asteroid field would make a medium planet with a level 1 gravity sphere, or a large planet with a level 2 gravity sphere, but it cannot make a huge planet even with a level 3 gravity sphere.
