Where are those labs?

I have spies in several enemy fortresses but I can not see any lab shown in those provinces. I see the fortress itself, I can see the temple, but no sign of any lab. Are labs hidden from spies? or is it just simply that those provinces do not have a lab?

I believe they're just hidden. Temples are easy to find, thanks to things like clouds of incense, ringing bells, chanting and rivers of blood from slaughtered virgins.

Labs, on the other hand, are hard to notice because the only external signs are, err... unexpected explosions, trainee wizards wandering around, strange smells, hordes of summoned creatures suddenly appearing, and rivers of blood from slaughtered virgins.

Oh.

I suppose the fact that the populace know where a temple is is rather integral to its function; not so with a lab.
