Re: Greatest TV Themes
What about MASH?
or even though it may not be your favorite song...the Theme from Star Trek TOS will certainly ring a bell in most folks head.

As for Babylon 5, the season that had the Shadows and the Centauri bombing the Narn homeworld in the opening credits had the best theme of them all (2nd or 3rd season).

Hmmm, that would be S3, I think. The one with Ivanova voicing over? Or Sheridan?

Re: Greatest TV Themes
Wow....
I loved B5 season 4's theme. I think because I loved S4, what with all the funky special effects bonanza, but the music was the real ticket that sold me on the series (I came into it late, a friend said hey, you might like this....)

Re: Greatest TV Themes
Tonto was with The Lone Ranger, not Bonanza, but the William Tell Overture is a good theme, too.
And for another really old western -
"Out of the night, when the full moon is bright,
Comes a horseman known as Zorro."

Re: Greatest TV Themes
Is 'Pink Panther' a TV theme? I don't think even the cartoon used the original theme, did it? If' you're just talking about 'theme' music without regard to whether it's TV or film then the field gets much bigger. The James Bond theme is really cool, for example.

Re: Greatest TV Themes
If we go into movies we'd need a new thread.
'Sides, the best movie themes are from Escape from New York and Total Recall!

Re: Greatest TV Themes
IMHO, the best ever theme is "Pink Panther"
