Lord of Rebirth Miscarriage with Twiceborn

So.. by means of unmitigated idiocy (weeping and gnashing of teeth here ) My woefully unprepared Lord of Rebirth ends up going toe to toe with the Eater of Dreams. He loses. Oh well... I have twiceborn on and I'm in my on Dominion.... but he doesn't show up back at my cap! What's up with that? I swear I've used it successfully on a Crone before. Might it be because he died from a horror effect? I think was also tagged with cursed luck at the time (pic attached.. never seen it before and never want to again). Holler if I'm just missing something simple about twiceborn. Logfile is attach too.

There was frindly dominion in the place of the battle? If i remember correctly twiceborn only works if the unit dies in a friendly dominion (i. e. at least 1 candle).

Horrormarked Lord of Rebirth in friendly dominion, with twiceborn cast, under Dome of Corruption got killed by Hunter of Heroes and was revived as wight (to get killed very same turn by 2 lesser horrors).

I looked at the debug output and it's kind of weird. The god dies to the 999-damage "swallow your soul" attack, then takes a couple more hits. He's dead, but the battle runs for one more turn, and his sword aura tries to damage him and the Eater. Then the god is just deleted from the battlefield. Looks like some kind of bug with the "Soul Eating" attack most likely.

I had a similar case when one of the Kindly Ones slain a twiceborned Gyjga of mine in the capitol. Gyjga was never reborn as well.

This could explain no twiceborn firing, but it doesn't sound right at all. Particularly for plain assassinations. How could a commander's bedroom be outside the god's dominion? Disputable for special attacks like those happening within some dreamscape, depends on the context I guess.

Just read this more closely.
I had 5 white candles in the prov where I was attacked and had no second attack sequence. Perhaps WAD for the soul consumption as v found in the log.

C- it is a bit ironic isn't it. One can imagine some low level bureaucrat at the dept of rebirth...
"I'm sorry sir but the paperwork has no provision for you to signoff on your own rebirth..."
