Default Hello all

Below is an excerpt from a post I made over at Gamesquad and Blitz on a post about Tigers Unleashed.

"I've owned WinSPWW2 since it came out but never really got around to playing it. The Steel panthers series was one I somehow overlooked all those years ago. At 1440x900 it looks OK (alot better than Tigers Unleashed anyway) in fact once I started getting immersed the graphics grew on me to the point that I really like them now, I didn't like the infantry but even those I've warmed too ( I now use Cross Inf). I started a long campaign as Germany starting in '39. Once I got to choose my forces I was amazed and enthralled at the choices in the game (It has Gary Grigsby written all over it) the detail is amazing. I'm still on the first attack against Poland and time flew by which doesn't happen often these days when it comes to gaming. In this one sitting WinSPWW2 has become my no 1 tactical turn based wargame. Why on earth someone doesn't come along and give it a facelift, make it wego (maybe), add a similar mechanic as Tigers has with regards to sending different soldiers to different floors etc...there are loads of tweaks and features you could add but use the current game as a foundation.

Mr Grigsby should forget about Grand Strategy and Operational and get back to doing a tactical game...

Oh and considering tactical scale wargames are my favourite I feel ashamed I never gave this much time previously..."

I will add after playing some now the AI definitely needs abit of tender loving care. Ye si know about PBEM but I just can't commit to that to be honest. I did once for SB and in the end resented the fact I HAD to play it everyday. So I stopped but now I can't even play SB at all against the AI after playing against a human. I don't want todo the same with SP

So having said all that over there I can now post here that my account has been authorised. Say I say hello and hang my head that I neglected this game for so long.

Default Re: Hello all

Nice to see you here.

WinSPWW2 is definitely more fun to play then TU. Especially at company level, as you need to move every unit manually here, so the turn time scales linearly with the on-map unit count.

The developers are reachable for discussion.
