He still turns into a wright mage, and, as I mentioned before, loses all chassis features, including immortality, making the use of twiceborn a very bad idea in this case.

I have a post in the Hall of Doh! where I over twiceborn-ing my Deep Seer pretender for Atlantis, losing water-breathing ability (wright mages aren't amphibious) and thus the ability to be resurrected at my capital at all, even by calling. So be careful about using the spell on units with valuable qualities other than magic paths, and never use it if you are an aquatic nations.
