Question about Suppression and Facing
Does it matter which direction an infantry unit takes fire from when it comes to suppression? I ask because my own results are so mixed, sometimes it seems that fire from the front causes more, sometimes from the flank or rear causes more.
In my limited real world experience, fire from the rear "oh kak, they're behind us" causes more fear and suppression.
Baie dankie,
troopie

Re: Question about Suppression and Facing
Not a technical guy when it comes to the games inner workings but, I would think the type fire the unit is taking and the all important experience level of that unit are the key factors to my mind. I've had squads fight tanks until they bug out or there's nothing left to bug out with. Same with snipers. All very experienced.

Re: Question about Suppression and Facing
From my limited game experience infantry facing makes little or no difference. What matters most, as FASTBOAT notes, is experience (inexperienced units may take more casualties due to slow reaction, panic, etc.).

Re: Question about Suppression and Facing
To the best of my knowledge facing makes no difference for infantry units.
Since they usually represent squads of 8+ men they are sort of assumed to have a 360 facing.

Re: Question about Suppression and Facing
Facing makes no difference to non-AFV fire effects.
Other than spotting - unspotted firers are more likely to be seen to the front arc than from the rear ones.
