Default Churchill

I have a question

I have a number of photos of Churchill mk III and IV that show this hanging off the back end


but I also have photos from the same Mks that don't


Does anyone KNOW what that is ? I have been unsuccessful in my search

...( KNOW not GUESS..... anyone can guess I need to know )

Why no, I hadn't. It seems too small to be a fuel tank but what puzzled me was that some photos had it and some didn't.

Surprising the answer was on a Site aimed at Canadian usage

yep......its a fuel tank....

I should have checked that but hindsight is 20-20
