Default Greek RM-70

An agreement was signed and upgrading already commenced in the facilities of the ΕΑΣ here in Greece for the rockets of the RM-70 to the G-2000 level.
Doubling the range to 40KM and apparently accuracy too.

I know almost nothing about the system, but yeah.

Fallout Re: Greek RM-70

Well to start the Greek OOB has the current with armored cab as UNITS 101/105.

I've used WAFF before in researching the Turkish MBT issue a few years back which was an absolute mess of which nearly all of it was pre Andy and Don. So the below is from them having translated it from a Greek source.
https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/worl...l-t274536.html

Also for background info:

https://weaponsystems.net/system/93-RM-70

Follow the variant links from ref 1 first newest type modifications. The Greeks seem like they're going for something more along the Slovak latest mod. but I could be wrong here.

I didn't have time to verify the following besides checking to see if this equip. was in the OOB. But a couple of interesting points came up...
1) Regardless of user country, a roof mounted, by the hatch 7.62mm MG
was standard equipment.

2) Also regardless of the chassis the weapons system is mounted on, they where designed to have ONE complete onboard reload, which after a launch, the launcher can be reloaded within 2 minutes. Pictures from Ref. 1 clearly show this reload capability.

I don't know if the "reload" is modeled currently in the game or if it can be modeled if it's not?

I do know I'm tired so good night.

Regards,
Pat

The first link you provided is from an older source for rockets reaching 32KM. What I am referring to is an agreement with a Serbian company or something signed I think a couple of weeks ago and the upgrade of the rockets has already started (in Greece) for rockets reaching 40km and according to the news better accuracy too.
Again, not exactly my field of expertise, I am just letting people here know about the change.
It says It mentions range increase from 20,380 meters to over 40,000 meters. Increase of accuracy by 30%. The physical characteristics of the rockets remain the same, 122mm length 2.875m, but there is a change in the weight of each rocket from 66 kilos to 69 kilos.
According to the article I posted, there is a stock of 10s of thousands of rockets (in Greece) and each rocket will be disassembled, inspected and checked the warhead with x-rays (no idea why). Any rockets which are found problematic will be destroyed and replaced. Then goes on with further details.
Actually it mentions that the venture ΜΙΜΑ-EDePro which at least the EDePro is Serbian, no idea about the MIMA part, is the part the Greek side signed the agreement/contract with.

X-Ray part is easy, simply put, you're checking for the structural integrity of the of the rocket/or missile as well as the "motor" i.e. micro cracks etc. and it's the safest way to inspect the warhead (Rest of internal parts.) first so you know what your getting into in advance of any modifications, repairs or replacing of parts.

Fallout Re: Greek RM-70

Went back to WAFF as they are the only English translated site reporting this for now.

1. Appears Greece has already started the conversion of 116 units. You can check SIPRI if that represents all they bought or not.

2. The RM-70 MODULAR is the modified platform they're being converted to. The system was jointly developed by Diehel BGT Defence of Germany and Slovakia. Slovakia is the only current operator of the system which ordered 28 of them. They became operational in 2005. More on the system...

Best I can do with the time of have which is now at "0 point", however, I would add probably looking at least a year away before FOC.

Have a good day!

Pat
