I gotta admit that American Squirrels are tougher than the Engish variety. I was over there are couldn't find 1 English Red Squirrel, they and all been kicked out of there homes by American Brown Squirrels.

Discovery Channel had a "snippet" on a new colored American "Grey" Squirrel which is crowding out the usual colored Grey Squirrel.
It much darker in color than the "Grey" squirrel and is so cautious that it will not approach a person for food.
The presumption is that it's "cautiousness" is a survival trait.

Our squirrels are so tough that when they finally die (of old age after a couple of centuries) the city gathers them up and uses the carcasses to fill potholes. The problem is, as the road wears down, the squirrels don't and you get pot lumps.
