It also depends on how many people are standing around watching it. You know, our breath is warm... so the more people the faster it will warm up. No? Oh... Ok... I just had to get my strange answer in here somehow...

Yes, the boiling of the pot will depend on whether there is an observer looking at it. Until there is an observation made, the pot is neither boiling nor not boiling; it is in an indeterminate state in which there is a probability distribution of boiling/not-boiling possibilities. The instant someone looks at it, one of the possible states becomes the actual state, and the other probabilites fall away.
