Newbie questions

Hi,

I've been thinking about trying out SEIV Gold ever since I heard about it (about a week ago). However, I was horrified to see that Stratetic Plus, the one UK shop that sells it, has set a 40 quid price tag (usually PC games are about £25-30) for the game. It does seem like a bit of a rip-off.

Any UK people in here who have bought gold? Where did you buy it, and how much did it cost?

By the way, what's the newbie scene like? Is it still possible to find PBEM newbie games?
