Very nice ideas Remco,
We will surely include them (one way or the other) in the structure (maybe in the later phase - bigger battles),
But for the early battles we should respect the historical availability of AA assets (for the NVA).
For sure all the options in the secondary mission (capture of officer, ammo depot, interdiction of convoy etc) will be included in the advanced scenarios (at least in some of them)
Although, one very important thing would be to prevent the player from abusing the tactics used in the Vietnam (jungle) battles. The transport Helos should remain an AUX element of the core force and their presence should be made only as reinforcements during the last turns of a primary campaign or bonus campaign. All of you know very well how easily the human may use cheating tactics like extended recon etc... and by using these he will ruin the spirit of the jungle fighting.
We should very carefully discuss the options for transportation Helos during each battle...
For sure in the later scenarios (Battalion size) we should include part of them as core force because the enemy will have enough of AA assets.
As for the relation between the availability of combat units
And the presence of adequate air transport this could be connected with the presence (or not) of AUX combat units in the scenario, because there is no technical way to exclude a core unit from a scenario.
Cheers,
p.s Remco, please go in the mission type thread
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...b=5&o=&fpart=1
and post your secondary type of missions (related to AA), and I will update the front page of this thread. Thanks
