Lost Empire: Immortals any good?

I have seen some reviews of Lost Empire: Immortals. The thing is, the reviews of many of the games I like (SEIV, Dominions) are never great in the mainstream press. Have any of you checked it out? The reviews say it is too big and the graphics suggest that it would not be easy to mod.

Thanks for your thoughts! Also, thank you to Shrapnel for their tolerance of discussions of other companies products.
