We only rely on single-source info if we have no other options.
It's always better to get multiple independent sources (i.e. not sources that all use the same base sources info) whenever possible.
ALL single source info it open to question simply because we have no way of knowing for sure how accurate their base data was in the first place.
I personally have spent over 3 years working on one single OOB, and I won't claim better then 90% accuracy for unit info when it comes to modern vehicles and aircraft. And I update whenever I find better info or someone points out a mistake, misinterpretation, or faulty assumption.
As stated, if you want to make revised OOBs based on personal guess-timation go right ahead. But please label them as such so folks know that's what they're getting.
