Actually SJ what I would like is initially to be the captain of an exploratory vessel. If my character survives a few years maybe he'll retire from the navy and accept a posting as a colony governor in a border system or something. I don't need a vote on anything, as a Captain I don't think he would get one, except maybe on where the ship goes. Just give me a ship and let me go off seeking new worlds and new civilizations.
