Re: PBW Server is down - and back up again
Ok, the bad news first. The Power supply went bye bye, and it looks like it took the motherboard with it.
Good news is that prices have dropped so much in the Last year we can get same model replacments for about half what we paid Last time. Parts are on order and if shipping goes well we should be back up and running by Monday.

Don't use the button then. Just make a text link.

I can't make promises, but I'll see what I can spare next month (probably $10-$20, but don't quote me) ... this month's budget is already spoken for. Regardless, whatever I can afford to send along, I shall.

Re: PBW Server is down - and back up again
I would never ask anyone to give beyond their means for sure. Noone should feel like the server won't be fixed if they can't send in some money. We have already ordered the parts and what's in the account will cover it. Any donations anyone sends in now will go to replenish the account for future monthly expenses and emergencies. We just need some time now to get the parts in and get the server running again.
Any of you that remember Last years weeks long down time it's very unlikely that will happen again this time. Your previous support has allowed us to be more responsive and minimize the down time. Thank you.

Which is why I'm only looking at sending $10 or so.

Consider it buying insurance against the next hardware-based problem for PBW. IOW, an effort to ensure that the NEXT (inevitable) time PBW goes down hard ... the account is that much more likely to be able to cover the expense of getting PBW back up and running ASAP.

Re: PBW Server is down - and back up again
I usually try to donate $10 a month (when I'm in a game) but I miss a month here and there. Still, I should be listed in the Battleship Category by now...grin.
I think it's worth it to have the opportunity to play with lots of different people.
I guess I'll send another $10 this month...as said below...to help with buying duct-tape and spit the next time the server has a problem...grin. Too bad you can't afford one of those new servers from Compaq like we just got at work (Drool !!!)...I think just about everything is hot-swappable (except the motherboard).
Finally, I would hope the makers of the games would give some support...after all, it makes SE4 much more appealing.
