At the very bottom of the page there's a link for "Printer-friendly view of this topic." That will display the current page in a descending format. Unfortunately for you, you can't make that the default view. But most of us have gotten used to the format of new Posts at the top - and at least some of us have started to like that format. This way you don't have to scroll all the way to the bottom of a page to read the one new reply on an old thread...
