So, keeping the light cruisers strategy but only modifying it to not attack planets will cause it to run for the hills (or at least not come into range of the planets weapons) in the absence of any ships?

About 5 turns ago a number of your destroyers were pursuing the ships of this AI race through a system owned by me.

Never seen anything like it. They were going like a bat out of hell with entering one WP of my system and exiting at another WP. And there you were, 'hot' on their tails.
