Its popularty in my case is price and ease of use. as kwok put it, my Tessellates are "connect the blocks" which for my vision is just right.

I like it. I have made a ton of images useing DOGA L-3. I could always use a copy of Bryce 3D or LightWave. I have Strata 3D Pro. But I can make an entire set in DOGA in the time it takes to make about 4 images in Strata! Even if they have round parts.
I have added 25 parts to the parts list as well. Really easy to use.
