Re: New Tournament starting, Join the 2003 PBW Open tournament
Ok Ruatha, you are in game 4. As long as people want in though I will keep adding games. I haven't put a time limit or a limit on the number of contestants. Although I'd like to keep the games all of five, at least for the first round. So maybe some people will not get in if we end up with only one or two extras. Unless we throw them in and make a couple games of six. Although that might be hard to do cause I have been starting the games as soon as they fill up so far.

Is it possible somehow to disable every political/trading interaction? I guess ship/resources/somesuch trading is not intended also, right?

Hmmm, actually I said "premitted", but that was a typo. It's supposed to say "permitted". Is premitted actually a word that means "not permitted"?
Hypothetically speaking it's possible to restrict gifts and tributes of any kind, and it's possible to restrict technology gifts or trades. It's not possible to restrict trades involving ships, planets, or anything other than tech. But the question is moot for the purposes of this game because I am not restricting anything. Just keep in mind every game is Last man standing, no alliance victories. So anything you trade can and will be used against you.

No, I just meant the other-than-tech-trades because it is still thinkable to abuse the trade system to an advantage: 2 players are trading with the premise not to fight against each other until the other 3 players are gone, or similar scenarios.
I like the lonely-wolf-character of the setup.

Right, and I agree with you, but not everybody does. I think being 5 player games and Last man standing will help to regulate that some.
If you trade everything to your ally, then he will be able to use it against you at the end of the game. But knowing that if you still want to do it, you can.
Just so we are clear, you understand that all tech trading is allowed? I'm probably misunderstanding, but from your comments I couldn't tell if you got that.

Ahem, obviously my babel fish just has misunderstood the word "permission to...", but now it is clarified. This happens if I read too fast over game setups, which normally is set to "trade not permitted".
