Re: Game map too small
Also look in the mod section for a file with more system names in it. If you go over the default 150 systems you will find systems without names unless you add more names to that file.

Re: Game map too small
On the topic of modding galaxy maps, is there any way to tweak the routine used to decide where warp points connect to? Right now, they always connect to the nearest, and I'd like there to be at least some that connect farther away. Other than making such a galaxy myself and reusing it, is there a way to achieve such a thing?

Wow just think, you could end up inside someone's backyard. Conversly (did i speil that rite. Hehe) someone could politely knock on your door. Nice idea.

Re: Game map too small
If they had closed warp points like in Starfire, you could have something even nastier: a warp point you couldn't detect until you spotted ships coming through it.
(Okay, I was remembering what happened in the Alpha Centauri in the book In Death Ground by David Weber and Steve White.)
Anyway, did they fix the mapping system so you can use more than 100 systems in a cluster quadrant?

Re: Game map too small
Thanks for the bug warning.
I was having problem with range check errors. I will change it to 250.
I add in "Alabama" text names to the system names to get to 300 names.

Re: Game map too small
Was that an officail patch?
I don't really want to use the non-official ones just in case they effect the multiplayer games that I am in!!
The 250 limit seems to work OK!
