SEIV on GalCiv forum

Somebody asked about SEIV on the GalCiv forum [topic subject: "So, was Space Empires IV any good?"]. Of course, I had to post my opinion, but most of the replies are lukewarm to negative. If anyone wants to contribute [politely, I hope] to the discussion, go to:

and post your opinion. You'll gave to register with the forum to post, but that's easy.

I have GalCiv and have put 10-12 hours into it but for some reason just can't get into it.
Of course I have hundreds of hours into SE4 and still consider myself a novice.

I am a member of the GalCiv forum and have posted about SEIV as well. The funny thing is there are people at the GalCiv forum how have never played or even heard of SEIV and think that GalCiv is the most moddable gam ever. LOL

GalCiv is a great game, but it hold no candle to SEIV for true 4 X gaming and moddability.

I think most of the GalCiv players are fond of the good AI, and forget multiplayer (or just aren't multiplayer types) when judging SEIV because GalCiv doesn't offer a multiplayer modus. That may explain some of the only lukewarm responses.

Think most of the GalCiv players doesn't know SE4, because most of the gamers doesn't know SE4...

Anyway, both games are different and think not everybody will like both at the same time...

Look the opinions about GalCiv here: mostly are positive, but usually these opinions finish saying that still like more SE4 than GalCic (because it's more simple, doesn't have tactical combat, can't design ships, etc, etc).

Sweet story, Oleg. I can only hope that something like that happens in my universe. That's the sort of thing that makes this game great. I don't think I could get the same feel with another game.
