Re: Trouble loading the new, new patch
Did you keep a copy of your v1.19 files. I created a second SE4 directory before I downloaded v1.27a and simply copied all of the files in the v1.19 SE4 root directory and replaced all of the 1.27a files. Then I executed v1.27b with no problems....

Re: Trouble loading the new, new patch
I remember that I backed up my hard drive a while back ago So I'm good to go now, works great. And then I found my CD (irony) So I did a clean reinstall anyway.
Nope not a pirate (err um at least not from MM) still have my SE2 floppy in my desk drawer. And I can quote my SE3 registration code (photographic memory helps for that)

Re: Trouble loading the new, new patch
Wait a minute. You mean I can't just load the NEW 1.27 patch over the old 1.27 patch?
How the HELL did they manage to do that to us?????

Re: Trouble loading the new, new patch
All you have to do is re-install the cd game over the files and then install the patch. You do not have to un-install the game.

Re: Trouble loading the new, new patch
OK, thanks, Pathy
(speaking of old farts, I'm not ever going to see 40 again myself)
I still think it was a bit clueless of the guys to make it the same number.
I notice the d/l link hasn't changed since I d/l'ed 127a, how do I know I'm getting 127b?
Did Aaron say that there would be six changes listed on changes.txt, instead of the two listed on the readme at the d/l link?

Re: Trouble loading the new, new patch
OK, that worked. I backed up my custom races and pics and stuff, re-installed from the CD, then installed the new 127 patch. The History.txt file now shows four changes, instead of two, and it specifically mentions the weird armor bug.
All's well that ends well. Thanks again, Dracus and Pathy
