Exchanging techs and gifts (supporting each other) are a major part of the fun beeing a team. As for colony tech and population, both players could be forced to take the same planet type and atmosphere.

Sorry if the post was not clear (very usual to me!), but I was talking about exchange population/gifts/techs with enemy's teams, not with your parthner...
